1st Visit to a Hair Salon

Owen got his hair cut today at SassyCuts. He was GREAT! I had brought a bag full of treats (bribes) just in case he didn't like it, but he was soooooo good! He sat on my lap and the lady shaved and cut his hair. He looks so handsome and grown up now! I think he may have been showing off for the little girl (11 months old) who was in the chair beside us with her Mom.

If anyone in the Chilliwack area is looking for a good, cheap, quick place to get their little guy's hair cut, I reccomend SassyCuts in the Salish Plaza. It was $10, 10 minutes, and Yvonne was GREAT!

Finger Painting

This is Owen's first attempt at finger painting. Thanks again to Mandy and Keira for giving this kit to owen for his birthday!

Ice Skating

Owen and I, and a few other Play Group Moms and kids, went ice skating today at Twin Rinks in Sardis. Owen had a great time! I bought him a new helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads so he would be safe (and he can use them when he starts really riding his bike later this year). Neither of us wore skates, but we still liked being on the ice! Owen played hockey, pushed the little bar things that keep you upright, and went in a wagon with his buddies. He really enjoyed himself!

Funny day

I bought Owen a bunch of toys, clothes, and books today in the states. The gift I gave him tonight was a Thomas the Train tent. This is to replace the cardboard castle that we threw out today (hopefully he won’t notice that). I just asked Owen if he liked his tent (which he hasn’t gotten out of since I assembled it over 30 minutes ago) and he said "Yeah, it’s beautiful, I love the tent!" Now he is saying over and over "Mama, I love the tent! I love the tent!" And now he is saying "I love you Mama! I love you Mama!" I think he likes the tent.

Gabe and I also took Owen to the bowling alley tonight for a Bowling for Big Brothers event. I was afraid it would be too loud there, as it was last year, but Owen absolutely loved it! He would have bowled all night if we let him. He got 15 points (in 5 pin blowing) in 4 turns! And he was thrilled with himself. They even gave him a stuffed animal puppy just for being so cute!

Playing outside

We've had some good times plahying outside lately with this nice weather. Hopefully the rain doesn't start again soon, becasue now Owen expects to go to a park every day! :)

Gymnastics

Owen had his first gymnastics class today and he loved it!

Happy 2nd Birthday Kaelen!

Owen had a great time at Kaelen's birthday party today - he played with toys, stole back the present he gave her, ate cake, and drank a lot (a lot!) of pop. Thans for having us over Kaelen!

Owen's 2nd birthday party!

Owen had his 2nd birthday party yesterday - and it was so great! We had a ball pit, the kids played with toys, there was a race car cake, and Owen fianlly got to open some presents! He got a ton - and what great gifts too! Thank you to everyone who came! We all had a wonderful time!

Fun in the snow!

It started snowing last night around 7pm and hasn't stopped since (it's 12:00 noon now!). We probably have a good foot of fresh, soft, fluffy snow on the ground now! Owen and I went outside to play in it, and decided to give the swings a try. It has been a while since we went on those. After one brutal (very very very fast) ride sown the slide we decided to call it a day and come back inside. But if this weather keeps up, we'll probably be out there again tomorrow seeing as we can't get the car out of the driveway! :)

Imagination

I love listening to Owen play because he has such a great imagination! He will climb onto the couch and say it is a boat and that he is fishing. And I have to get up onto the couch too because it is surrounded with water and there are sharks in the water. Or he will be on our bed and he’ll pile the pillows up high and climb to the top of the ‘mountain’ and then fall off. Or he’ll be standing in the middle of a room with a blanket on his head pretending he is under a tent. Note: There are always parrots in the tent with him! And the other day we were shopping and he put his hand to his ear and pretended to be talking into a phone. He said "Hi Papa, I’m buying medicine, but we have to give it to the lady first. Ok, Papa, bye." I just love to see his imagination at work!

"I got game!"

Owen loves basketball. Even more now that he has all the equipment. Uncles Dusty and Jesse got him this jersey for Christmas, and Big-Papa (my Grandpa) got Owen this basketball hoop for his 2nd birthday. Owen plays 'hoops' multiple times a day, every day. He just loves basketball!

Mmmmm... cupcakes!

I'm at a baby shower and I hear Owen say "Mama, take a picture!" and I look over and see him holding this pose. He is MY BOY!

Owen's first attempt at shaving

Owen got a little shaving kit (no worries - there is no razor in there) for Christmas and today in teh bath he learned how to shave for the first time! What a funny little gift, but he loves it!

Tea Party

Owen went to Kaelen's house today and they had a tea party. Owen especially liked the cookies. :) Thanks for having us over Kaelen!

Big Boy Bed!

Well Owen slept through the night again in his big boy bed with no troubles! That is 2 nights in a row! Both evenings, around 9:30 or 10pm, Owen woke up crying, so I went in there. All I had to do was cuddle him for a bit and then he fell back asleep in the bed. And then he wakes up so happy and proud of himself! I think his crib days are over! Hooray!

Frosty got one thing right

Owen has a bunch of family over visiting right now for Christmas, but he was more intetrested in sharing Frosty's carrot. Yummy!
