Update, sorry for not posting for the last 3 months

Our summer was VERY busy!

Here is a quick update:
- We went camping a few times, and Owen spent a lot of nights with Papa in the trailer in our driveway
- With a new haircut, Owen looks really grown up now!
- Owen had his 2 top, front teeth extracted at the end of August. He is doing great now, but he REALLY looks older now!
- He's wearing size 5 shirts, size 4 pants, and size 11 shoes!
- Both Andy and Owen started at a new daycare and they love it!
- We went to the Zoo, Science World, Kelowna, the Vancouver Aquarium, Sumas, the Chilliwack Flight Fest, and Party In The Park.
- Owen can write his name, type his name, and he knows all his letters. He is working on what sound they all make, and he really wants to read. He loves rhyming words together, and playing with sounds.
- He loves Word Girl, Sid the Science Kid, and Super Why

Owen is a happy kid who loves to play, and is always willing to cuddle with me. He doesn't let me leave the house without at least 3 hugs and kisses, and he still crawls into our bed just about every night. I love him sooooooo much!

101.5

Yesterday, when Owen woke up from his nap around 5pm (he slept for 3 hours!) he felt very hot, and was very cranky and lathargic. I took his temperature and it was 101.5. So I gave his some Tylenol and made him a banana and mango milk smoothie. He hasn't eaten any solids since yesterday morning and only wants milk bottles now. We think he is finally getting that other molar in now – he says his mouth hurts. Maybe he is getting both of the last 2 molars. It would be nice to get this teething all over and done with for a while.

When we put him to bed at night he went down really well, but still had a fever of 100. He woke up around 10:30 with a fever of 103.5, nasty sweats, and a full diaper of grossness. He was up and and restless for about an hour after that (which really interrupted the LOST episode we were watching) but he was relatively happy. We gave him more Tylenol and a milk bottle, and Owen fell asleep in our bed with us around 11:30. Owen was up again at 4am with a fever of 101.5. I gave him more Tylenol and he went right back to bed.

I thought after all that interrupted sleep that Owen would sleep in a bit this morning, but he was up, like usually, at 7:30am. His fever was still at 101.5, so I gave him the last of the infant Tylenol, another milk bottle, and he is now watching In The Night Garden... again. I am so glad we taped that show yesterday – it is all he wants to watch now. I'll have to tape todays episode as well as this one is already driving Gabe and I nuts.

We had plans to visit with Play Group today but I think Owen and I will do best just staying home and taking it easy. I'll try to keep him hydrated, but I want to get my finger in his mouth at some point in the day to see if it is teeth, or perhaps a virus.

Dentist visit

We got home at midnight last night and Owen was asleep right away. At 1:30 he woke up sweating and screaming but fell asleep a minute later on my lap. I brought him into bed with Gabe and I. At 2:30am Owen woke up screaming again. This time we would not settle back down so I took him downstairs. We saty on the living room couch together for half an hour with Owen crying and shifting his position all the time. He finally asked for a milk bottle (which he chugged) and then I put him back to bed. I am so glad he is drinking – he hasn’t had much to drink since Monday and I am afraid he is getting dehydrated.

Then Owen woke up at 8am. We thought he would sleep more as he was up all night, but he woke up happy and wanted to get on with his day. So we got up and watched some cartoons. Owen drank my whole glass of grape juice, which was a large glass. I am so glad he is drinking lots!

Owen had a Dentist appointment today – his 2nd one. This one wasn;t as good as last time. Owen cried and didn’t like the chair. So he sat in my lap, and laid down with his head in the Dentists lap. The Dentist looked in Owens mouth 3 times and said that ll his 2-year molars seem to be coming in at once (the Doctor at the Hospiatl had told us that too).

Owens gums were bleeding way worse than yesterday and the Dentist said it was from me not cleaning them properly. What I need to do now is hold Owen down and properly clea his teeth and gums once a day every day. He said Owens gums might bleed while I do it for 2 weeks. But if they bleed for more than 3 weeks, than call him and come back because that is not good.

Owen also has skin growing between his two front teeth. If that doesn’t go away when he loses his abby teeth, the Dentist will have to cut that skin back. He said that is normal.

Owen didn’t have anything to eat all day, although he did have one more milk bottle before bed that night. He also had a 4 hour nap in th eafternoon.

2 new molars

Well now that Owen is feeling so much better he has let me look inside his mouth. He has two new molars. Now he has four molars in total. He had one with just the two sides poking through that is completely through now, and the other three just have the two sides poking through. He still has some teething pains, but is feeling soooooo much better.

We even got to go visit some friends today and Owen learned how to say "Ana" and "Sasha". Once we got home we played outside for a long time and Owen learned how to say "Yucky" (in regards to Papa's beer car ash tray - gross).

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and get well messages for my wee man during the roughest few days he has had in a long time. Hopefully it will be a while before we have to go through that again.
