Story Time at the Library

Owen and I went to Story Time at the Chilliwack Library today. They read books, sang songs, had a puppet show, and all the kids (I'd say over 20 of them) had a great time. Owen did too!

After Story Time with Crolyn was over Owen and I found some good books to bring home. This one, Daddy All Day Long, is about a little pig named Owen and his Daddy.

And then, on our way back to the car we saw lots of ducks, geese, and turtles in the pond. It was a good morning outing!

Owen's 3rd Pascha (well, the BBQ part at least)

This is Owen with 2 of his very best friends - Jonah and Christian. Even though these 2 boys are considerably older than Owen, they treat him like an equal and spent a lot of time playing with him. And heis just nuts about them! Yesterday, Owen got to play with his buddies for hours at the Paschal BBQ.

And this is another one of Owens favorite people - Avery. She was one of our first babysitters, and Owen is just nuts about her! Here, Owen and Avery are picking flowers, which he will later throw at her and the other girls - boys have such funny ways of flirting!

And here we are - me and my boy! I love this boy so much!

Now that is one fast airplane!

Owen recently bought bowling pins and uses them as other things more often than not. His bowling pins have been used as baseball bats, bird wings, guitars, and today they are airplane wings... very fast airplane wings! Woosh - see him go! :)

101.5

Yesterday, when Owen woke up from his nap around 5pm (he slept for 3 hours!) he felt very hot, and was very cranky and lathargic. I took his temperature and it was 101.5. So I gave his some Tylenol and made him a banana and mango milk smoothie. He hasn't eaten any solids since yesterday morning and only wants milk bottles now. We think he is finally getting that other molar in now – he says his mouth hurts. Maybe he is getting both of the last 2 molars. It would be nice to get this teething all over and done with for a while.

When we put him to bed at night he went down really well, but still had a fever of 100. He woke up around 10:30 with a fever of 103.5, nasty sweats, and a full diaper of grossness. He was up and and restless for about an hour after that (which really interrupted the LOST episode we were watching) but he was relatively happy. We gave him more Tylenol and a milk bottle, and Owen fell asleep in our bed with us around 11:30. Owen was up again at 4am with a fever of 101.5. I gave him more Tylenol and he went right back to bed.

I thought after all that interrupted sleep that Owen would sleep in a bit this morning, but he was up, like usually, at 7:30am. His fever was still at 101.5, so I gave him the last of the infant Tylenol, another milk bottle, and he is now watching In The Night Garden... again. I am so glad we taped that show yesterday – it is all he wants to watch now. I'll have to tape todays episode as well as this one is already driving Gabe and I nuts.

We had plans to visit with Play Group today but I think Owen and I will do best just staying home and taking it easy. I'll try to keep him hydrated, but I want to get my finger in his mouth at some point in the day to see if it is teeth, or perhaps a virus.

2 days at the Rotary Trail

Owen (sporting a new haircut) and I walked the Rotary Vedder Rivery Trail 2 days in a row this week.

Yesterday we met Owen's Grandma and Grandpa there (as they will soon live very close to the trail we wanted to show it to them). Owen had a great time throwing rocks into the river with his Grandpa!

And then today it was just the 2 of us going for a walk and watching the fishermen. We didn't see any fish though :(

Bathtime and shaving

Owen took time out of his busy schedule last night to have a bath and do some much needed shaving. Papa got in on th e action too, and Owen helped him out by shaving Papa's head for him.

You know what they say about big feet...

Owen is now wearing size 8.5 runners and size 9 flip flops. I bought him these new shoes the other day (the runners are blue and gray from Payless, and the flip flops are white and green from Superstore) and Owen wants to wear them in the house all day long. He loves his new shoes. And he loves saying flip flops – he is so cute!

My Uncles

Owen and I spent this past week in Kelowna with Owen's Uncles Dusty and Jesse. We went there a month ago and Owen got to spend a lot of time with Uncle Dusty, but this time it was Uncle Jesse he hung out with most.

I love how much fun they all have together, and my highlight of the week was watching the three of them lay on Owens little bed with Uncle Jesse reading a Curious George book, and Owen stroked Uncle Dusty's head.

My new ears

Owen and I got a special treat last Saturday - a birthday party AND easter egg hunt combined! Olivia turned 2 and had a great birthday bash which involved playing outside, looking for eggs, eating candy, wearing new shiney ears, blowing out candles, eating cake, playing with friends, opening presents, eating more candy, and having a wonderful time! (and then a loooong nap!)

Thanks for having us over Olivia!

And here is a pic of us Moms with our new ears too!
