The Godfather

Owen's godparents are Matthew and Krista Francis of Edmonton - good friends of ours. The last time we saw them was last May at their wedding. That is, until this past weekend when Matthew came to Vancouver to give a seminar.

As the last time we saw them we told them of our pregnancy, and the next time we will see them will be Owens baptism (April 30th for those of you who wish to attend) it seems each meeting keeps getting better.

Matthew was a very proud Godfather and introduced Owen to everyone at the seminar as his "soon-to-be Godson".

Visiting with the girls

Owen and I had a lovely visit with Victoria Jordan and Theresia Lerche yesterday (and Jonah too). He was all smiles for his favorite girls!

7 weeks old and loving it!

Owen is 7 weeks old now. He weighs 12lbs 7oz and is 23.75" long. He is sleeping through the night 80% of the time and is awake more during the days. He can hold his head up all on his own, and is begining to "talk" a lot when he is awake.

The cheeks are coming!

The cheeks are coming! Prepare ye for large "Warawa" cheeks!

Owen is gainnig weight, and I think most of it is in his cheeks. It is a Warawa family trait for babies ot have huge cheeks and look like little old men. When Owen was first born I was quite surprised not to see the huge cheeks. Especially as I thought I saw them in his last ultrasound. But I guess not. However, I think they aer on their way now.

Owen's baptism

Owen's baptism is set for Sunday, April 30th. It will be at our church (St. Hermans Orthodox Church) in Langley. The service starts at 10am, and I beleive his baptism is right near the beginning. All are welcome!

For directions, just email me at lanteigne@shaw.ca or check out the Churches website: www.saintherman.net

Nursing bras

For all you nursing (or pregnant) mothers out there let me give you a very valuable piece of advice - there is a bra shop in Langley called Forever Yours. It is on the Fraser Hwy, in the one-way-street section of downtown. If you can't seem to find a good-fitting, supportive nursing bra (or regular bra for that matter), I can guarantee you that you will find one at this store. And not too expensive either ($60 - $80 each).

Even when under the weather...

Gabe, Owen, and I have all been feeling a little under the weather this past week. I think it is just a sinus cold, but still.

I got it first, this past Sunday, and then shared it with the boys. I'm just getting over the worst of it now, and Gabe is (of course) just getting the worst of it now. Owen had a couple of coughs yesterday, and has been sleeping more than usual, and he is more cranky than usuaylm but other than that, I don't think he got it too bad.

But even if he was feeling a little ill, Owen is never too sick to do a photo shoot (well, at least not yet). Todays photo shoot shows our little genius man in an outfit from Gabriel's cousins Sinnova and Keith. Today is the first day he has worn this outfit, and I have to say it is one of my favorites. I have a feeling you will be seeing more of this outfit in the near future (perhaps my cousins wedding in 2 weeks).

I went through Owens clothes yesterday, putting away the ones that no longer fit him (how sad) and washing the new ones he will wear in the next month or so. It's crazy to think he is still so new, and yet he already has a dozen or so outfits he has outgrown! He is now wearing his 3-month old clothes. I have to put him in new clothes every day just to make sure he isn't outgrowing something he hasn't worn yet! So get ready for a slew of new photos (like I haven't already bombarded this blog with new photos of him every day) in new outfits!

The Dirt

Can you guess the name of Owens favorite band? I'll give you a clue... Shaggy is the drummer. Shaggy also gave Owen this awesome sleeper, and a t-shirt with "The Dirt"s logo on the back as well. I can't wait until it is nice outside so I can put Owen on his tummy out in the parking lot and get a great shot of him in this sleeper! Do you think Gabe will get mad?

Mr. Smiler

Owen is usually up for a few hours from 10am - 2pm every day, and that is our "happy time". That is usually when I dress him all up and take a million photos. It is also when he gives me his best smiles and attempts to laugh. He is able to produce high screeching noises, and today he even rolled his tongue in that spitting way.

I just wish he didn't have a face rash. It is worse in the morning, and much better after I lotion him up. So I have taken to lotioning his face when he is sleeping (as he fights me and wipes most of it off with his hand-socks). I'm not 100% sure why he has it, but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. We have a doctors appointment next Monday, so I can ask her about it then.

But he is just too cute, despite the face rash, for me not to continue with our photo shoots. I was hoping to get some good shots of him in his snowman sleeper with this new dump of snow in the backround. But he puked all over the sleepwer, and the rain is now washing away the snow. So maybe next time.

Baby Shower

Gabe's sister Elia threw us a baby shower yesterday with lots of family and friends in attendance. Grandma and Cindy Hauser pose here for a photo with Owen.

Owen now smiles for Mama, Papa, and Grandma too! He showed off his brillinat smile for a lucky few at the shower. For the most part he just slept peacefully.

Owen's outfit here is one of my favorites. This was the first time he wore it as he has now outgrown all of his newborn outfits for up to 7lbs, and is wearing his newborn outfits for up to 13lbs.

Photo Shoot

Owen and I had a photo shoot this afternoon. He modeled this lovely blue duckie sleeper, yellow knit hat, and Winnie-the-Pooh housecoat (given to his by his Uncle Dusty's friend Teresa), while lounging in his bouncy chair given to him by my Aunts and Cousins.

As these pictures were taken outside, I had to bundle Owen up really tight to keep him warm. The housecoat (also referred to as his "smoking jacket" - see the pghoto below) is made of a very soft fabric, and Owen loved it up against his skin.

He has some great faces in these photos! I took over 100 shots of him and these are my favorite. The duckie shots from the post below were taken during this photo shoot as well.

I am getting "Thank You" cards made soon, and am trying to get the perfect picture to send in them. Please let me know which shot is your favorite including all the pictures from the last 3 posts (Absolutely Adorable, Owen's Duckie, and Photo Shoot). Thank you!

Also, if you have any really great shots of Owen from your vistis, please email them to me (if they are digital shots) to galanteigne@shaw.ca. Thank you!

Owen's Duckie

Owen's Duckie was given to him by my Auntie Diane at his first baby shower. It nicely matches the little ducks on his blue outfit. This was the first outfit Owen ever wore. It's a little big on him now, so I can can only imagine it must have been huge on him in the hospital - I don't remember much about those days.
